Valentine’s Day

February 14 is symbolically a day associated with long stem red roses, love and romance.  It is strong in the color red and heart shaped objects.

There is a lot of similarities in this tradition and the correlations used in metaphysics.  For example, to start with the date chosen is the 14th of February.

February is associated with spring in metaphysics and it is a time when the world becomes vibrant and alive.  Life is full of energy.  New life and growth are appearing everywhere. Love and regeneration after the long winter is strong and in the air. All creatures are thinking of love.

The numbers 1 and 4 are represented as water and wood in metaphysics coding called “trigrams”.  When these two numbers are worked together, they generate the fire love trigram.

In metaphysics number 1 represents the water element, sex and our reproduction cycle.  This Qi is directly associated with our genitals and reproduction organs in Traditional Chinese Medicine practices.

The number 4 represents wood and is correlated to romance, buttocks and breast.  The long stem of the rose represents the linear shape associated with wood qi.

The color red is associated with passion.  The generating cycle of water (1) and wood (4) produce fire. Fire represents passion and love.  The deep red colour of the rose.  Fire represents our heart and controls our pulse and the flow of our blood.

In metaphysics we say if you can add water to wood, you can generate fire.

Make your own water, wood fire combination.

  • Water Representation, can be anything black, or dark blue, wavy in shape, flows or hangs downward. (Maybe a black Flower Vase)
  • Wood Representation, can be anything green, linear, shoots upward. (Choose multiples of 4 long stem roses; 12, 24, 36)
  • Fire Representation, can be anything red, triangular (or heart) shaped, and/or spreads outward. (Try deep red roses and box of heart shaped chocolates.)

Wishing you all a great day and lots of love.
