Beware of new construction home sites. Funny things can happen. For example, take the case of the family who bought a new home from a residential builder. They were very excited, and wisely called me in for a Feng Shui consultation.
With new building sites, the land is being constantly disturbed with on-going construction. The newly built buildings are like newborn babies. The Qi in these locations tend to be unreliable and unpredictable for this reason. However, my Clients ended up incurring one more problem.
Their builder had a total of 3 approved sites which equalled 30 lots. His plan was to start building on Site 1. On this site, all the homes would face north. Next he will build the houses on Site 2, and those houses would face south. He would then finish with Site 3 which would face north.
My Clients picked a lot in Site 2, which had a south facing lot. They moved in as soon as it was built. When they moved in, the houses in Site 1 (in front of them) had already been built, and the houses in Site 3 (behind them) were at least 1 year away from being completed.
The Client’s finished house consisted of a wall of windows on the rear of the building. When the community is finished, these windows will be facing a solid row of houses, (which would be very quiet and considered to be “yin”). However, until Site 3 is completed, it will face vacant land (which has lots of movement, and is very “yang”). So this initial yin on the front and yang on the rear will give the house a false front or facing in the beginning.
This means that my clients will be experiencing two totally different houses within their first two years. Because of this any Feng Shui Consultations I would provide now, no matter how accurate, would need to be completely redone when the facing changes after all the building of the houses is complete. This is just one more reason why buyers must be aware of new construction sites.
