Sitting too long on the Computer

TOO MUCH TIME ON THE COMPUTER
Coffee and Computer. Caution if this is your “happy place”.
Going into Period 9 this is going to be big as we go more and more into the digital age. Complete days are spent in front of the computer doing, research, meetings, reports.
It will be imperative for your health to bring the wood qi into your body to fuel all the fire qi you are putting out. You can do this with “wood” qi found in foods and especially exercise.

When we are talking about our body, the word Yin represents cold and fluids. When deficient in yin, the body will be warm and lack moisture. This means that bodily functions that require movement will not get the lubrication needed for the proper flow, and some bodily functions will become stagnated.

Yin is a representative of no movement; of being stationery. If you live a sedentary lifestyle you are making it worst. Our bodies need a balance of both yin (stillness/nighttime) and yang (movement/daytime). Imbalance in either one will cause problems within the body, especially sitting for long periods of time in front of the Computer or TV.

Some symptoms of yin deficiency are cold and or pale extremities, general weakness, mental or physical exhaustions, lack of drive, general loss of strength, water retention, dry hard stools, hot palms, chest or soles. and eventually too even a “fried” mind.
It will even affect our psychological well being as our life turns more virtual than real. friends, events, activities.

What you can try, aside from becoming more active, is to be mindful of what you eat and drink.

Go for: Fruit smoothies, fruit salads, fish dishes cooked in coconut milk, omelets with cheese.
