In Feng Shui practice, one of the tools we use is call, 5 elements. The elements are given common names like: Earth, Metal, Water, Wood and Fire. The names represent the qualities of the elements or phases and not necessarily the item itself. For example Earth represents many things including large muscles. Wood can represent ligaments and tendons.
One way to read the 5 elements is by determining how the elements are interacting. It will be one of 3 sequences: draining, enhancing or controlling. For example, wood would be generated by water, but water is drained by the act of generating wood. Wood is controlled by metal, and wood controls earth. Now of course this is just a set of “influences”. The Elements do not actually do the work, you will do the work. The ancient texts tell us it is our environment that will influence us into how we do things.
In real life situations, we know that an over abundant amount of tree roots will rip apart the soil. Yet with the right balance of roots it will keep the earth from eroding. It is all about balance, and we know from experience that when any balance is thrown off problems can be expected.
Tendons are correlated to the Wood element, so when I was recently called in to help a client who was dealing with severely damaged tendons, I looked for unbalances in the Wood element. They were all present. The client was wood, who slept in a space that was yin earth and flooded throughout with yang metal. This means the person was controlling out and being controlled in. This is similar to a war where an army is attacking and being attacked at the same time.
The client confirmed that they had first obtained professional medical advice from a Doctor, but to date had not been able to gain any relief. The client’s job was the contributing factor due to its repetitive use pattern. So giving it a rest was not an option, nor was relocating to a different space. Relief was needed.
I set about formulating a pain relief oil blend. The first two blends were of no help. Then one morning I woke up with this formula in my head. I quickly wrote it down, and contacted the client to see if they wanted to give aromatherapy another try. My client agreed.
In a recent update on the latest blend I received this message:
“So yesterday, I decided to do a test, I didn’t put any cream on the night before, in the morning and after work, and I definitely was in much more pain.
I put it on last night and this morning and even though it’s the end of the week, which is usually much more painful than the beginning of it, I feel much less pain.”
The purpose of this blog is not to say that aromatherapy Feng Shui is always the answer, but it is just to say it is a help. I advise all clients that they should see a Doctor first. I am finding that when you use Feng Shui as it was meant to be used, it is more about practicing good health and not so much about the popular notion about gaining more wealth. Health is Wealth is the message I think the ancient Feng Shui Masters were talking about
