The Power of Red and Target Stores

Feng shui real estate five elements, fire, earth, wood, water, metal.

Target stores have me seeing red.  Red is a very powerful colour and a strong Feng Shui cure.  It is so powerful that we are very careful where and when we use it.  The colour red can bring both unfortunate and fortunate results.

I personally cannot go into a Target Department Store without becoming overwhelmed from the fire element.  Not only do we find red at the entrance doors, but then inside their walls and service areas are all red.  The staff even wears red tees.  I have to get out of there immediately.  The atmosphere is too strong for me, a metal person.

In Feng Shui the 5 elements are labelled: Metal, Water, Wood, Fire, and Earth.

In that order the flow is smooth, but in the order of: Fire, Metal, Wood, Earth, Water.

The flow is not smooth.

They are now attacking instead of generating.  Since I am a metal person, I am feeling attacked and overwhelmed when I am around too much of the “fire” Qi.

Just like with real fire, in Feng Shui, a practitioner must be careful how (s)he handles the fire Qi.    Depending on time and space formulas, here are the possible interactions fire has with the other Qi types.

Fire and Water

  •  Career advancements
  • Eye problems

Fire and Earth (3 Types)

  • Mental disorder (type 1 & 2)
  • Financial disaster (type 1 & 2)
  • Impulsive behaviour (type 1)
  • Health hazard (type 2)
  • Happy events (type 3)

Fire and Wood (2 types)

  • Financial gain (type 1)
  • Career promotion (type 1)
  • Learning disabilities (type 2)

Fire and Metal (2 types)

  • Conflicts (type 1)
  • Injury (type 1)
  • Gaining recognition (type 2)
  • Wealth generation (type 2)
  • Fire hazard (type 2)

This got me thinking, I wonder if all this red has anything to do with Target’s wild successes and catastrophic problems.  Fire must be placed and used right as it can give you either massive fortune or massive failure.  It must be handled with the upmost caution.  I think the more Target expands its locations, the more it is exposed to possible bad combinations.  This company will surely live up to the saying “big giants fall hard” when you play with fire like they do.
