Restaurant Review

Can Flying Stars Feng Shui predict how an evening at a restaurant might go?  For instance, how good the service will be or how good the food might taste?

A couple of Sunday’s ago, our friend took us to one of his local restaurants, Vi Pei Bistro, (3101 Kingston Road).  The experience was impressive.  We felt comfortable, the food was beautiful and tasty. The service was attentive.

While eating our dinner, we noticed on their brochure that there were three other locations listed.  My friends and I decided that next Sunday we would try out a new  Vi Pei Bistro location and see how they compared, both on a personal basis and on a Feng Shui basis.

The restaurant was small with 12 tables.  We could witness the chef and kitchen staff via a viewing window.  They appeared to be in a happy place.  They were all smiling and working together.  I had the chicken curry for the main course and a brie and fruit appetizer.  I thought they were both presented well and tasted excellent.

The following Sunday we ate at Vi Pei Bistro, (2258 Kingston Rd), also a 12 table location.  The view of the kitchen staff at this location showed the staff working diligently and independently.  They were intent on their work.  The menu was the same.

I ordered the same appetizer I had the previous Sunday at the 3101 location.  This time it was not as appetizing.  As a matter of fact, my husband and I, (who shared this dish), both complained of an upset stomach later that evening.

I had a chicken dish which I felt to be overcooked.  However, the plate was filled with scrumptious looking roasted veggies.  There were two that I did not recognize and asked the waitress what they were.  She did not know.  I asked her to find out for me, and only after two more requests did she come back with the answer.

To be fair, I only completed the Qi Maps for either location after eating (in order to remain impartial).   For the 3101 location, we voted it 9 out of 10.  The Qi Map indicated good food, and that is just what I got.

The voted grade for 2258 Kingston was 6 out of 10.  The Qi Map indicated there may be problems at this location, and there were.

The Qi maps for both locations are as follows:

3101 Kingston Rd

  • #6 and #8 energy combo in the front “palace”, (one of the 8 triangles that make up the Qi Map) – is known to give financial success, it also is known to produce a pleasant atmosphere.
  • #4 energy at the main entrance – provides ambiance and artistic flair.  This energy is an excellent aid in the skill of food presentation and even with the cooking itself.

Bluffs

2258 Kingston Rd

  • #5 energy at the front door – normally brings financial troubles, and business woes.
  • #7 and #5 energy combo at the entrance –  #7 represents the mouth and #5 sickness.

A successful restaurant needs more than good Feng Shui.  Even a bad Feng Shui location can get by if the chef is very good and it is run under good management.  However, a good Feng Shui location will make the job a lot easier.
