Feng Shui San Yuan Luo Pan

Feng Shui Research Centre 11 Ring San Yuan Luo Pan

The Feng Shui compass or Luo Pan is an instrument that can measure virtual mountains, incoming water flows, and astrological timing.  It can predict harmonious qi of a space as well as its timeliness. It is a tool used by the Feng Shui master to chart qi formations in and around a property.

It is simply a square plate with a movable circular plate resting on top.  The center houses a magnetic needle that naturally aligns to the south north axis. The magnetic axis is caused by the flow of electrons in the planet’s metallic core. The rings can be a few or many depending on your training.  When line up at a particular direction it will give you the necessary variables to complete the formulas that lay out the flow of qi.

The Feng Shui Research Centre founded by Master Joseph Yu has designed an 11 Ring Compass that covers Heaven, Earth and Man methodologies to help assess a property’s potential. “Heaven” is interpreted through time, “Earth” through magnetic directions, and “Man” through birth charts.  Together it is all we need to help ourselves and our clients plan better spaces based on time and space formations.

In these 11 Rings, we can determine, qi flows and how they may affect the people in the home.  The rings will guide you through the early and later Ba Guas, it explains the popular 24 Mountain ring that sees virtual mountains and directions based on time.  There is another ring to follow for Sun and Moon formulas, and another that  will help you prepare your own personal horoscope chart based on these very algorithms.

Is it magnetic, astrological or grid? Some people question whether Feng Shui should be following magnetic, astrological or True North for our bearings. The earliest document recorded on the magnetic influence in Feng Shui was written during the Three Kingdom Period (220-265ce).  In the one of the scrolls found in a burial tomb it gave this ruling on how to read the Luo Pan it had this to say:

“The needle points Kan-Li (north-south) determining the starting and ending locations of Yin and Yang.”

Our 2nd Ring on the Luo Pan called the Luo Shu based on the Hou Tian Ba Gua has been written with Kan in the north and Li in the south.  Therefore in Feng Shui it is always the magnetic reference that we use.  No matter where you are on the planet.  Kan is North, Li is South.

I have recently written a book describing the 11 Rings and the charting formulas of the Feng Shui Research Luo Pan. Available on Amazon.  Here is a link to buy
